FIDDLER CUTS/CHANGES 7/13/09

-m 1 is repeated 3 times (we will play this 4 times)
-mm 1 through the third to last bar repeat (vamp) including the repeat in m 1

-after the pause at m 35, we will begin again at m 18 and play to the end of the piece without the pause

#9
-put a fermata over m 2

We will play the entirety of #12 again after the scene without repeats. The final two bars will still be repeated.

-mm 17 through 24 repeat

After #24, we will play m 39 to the end without any cezuras/fermatas/breaks/etc. as scene change music. If more time, we will move onto the first four bars of #25.

FIDDLER CUTS/CHANGES 7/10/09

-mm 1 through the third to last bar repeat (vamp)

-mm 3 through 17 repeat (vamp)

#8-m 8, put a very short fermata over beat 2

-mm 2 through 13, repeat as a vamp. This will be used as scene change music and the first part of the scene. Do not play the repeat at m 13 until the final time through – then we move on.

We will play the entirety of #12 again after the scene without repeats. The final two bars will still be repeated.

-mm 5 through 16 repeat as a vamp

-m 42, make the third beat a half note and remove the final rest (this will still have a fermata and lead into m 43)
-m 50, put small fermata over beats 2, 3 and 4

Hello, all. Here is a list that includes all changes we've made to the music so far. Sorry for missing a few last time. There are a lot and it looks daunting, but the list includes every little added detail (fermatas, cezuras, etc.). Hope this helps.

The measures of this piece are ordered differently. They will be played as follows:
-play mm 1 through 36, then jump to m 47 (continue the phrase if you have a downbeat in m 37)
-play mm 47 through 55, then jump back to m 36 (NOT m 37).
-play mm 36 through 45. Cut the downbeat of measure 36 this time
-a pause replaces m 46 (the singer will hold a note during our pause)
-play mm 56 to the end. Cut beat 1 from measure 56.

Here's that Web site Jason was asking me about in rehearsal -- hopefully we'll be able to get a few things posted on here before this show is over (other than just cuts!).

This blog is used mostly to distribute information about the pit orchestra rehearsals, etc. But, if you take a few pictures, or want to make comments about each other for fun, or just have something to say about what is going on on stage... well, this is a good place to do it.

Let me know if you want access to post to it.
